Thanks for making 2016 one for the books!  The comments, feedback, energy from you guys  decidedly made it a must to take note of our Top 10 Dance specific Gadfly projects.

We delivered 50+ performances, 120+ dancers repped for us on stage, and we shared the art of Dance at the sweet spot of Artistry, Authenticity, and Athleticism with an estimated 4 000 people!

Amongst all the action either because of the collaborators, the dance artists involved or the size of the challenge, 10 projects made the cut in our TOP 10 of 2016.

TOP 10 DANCE HIGHLIGHTS OF 2016 A LA GADFLY

#10 NEWRISKYO AT DANCE WEEKEND FESTIVAL

This year was one for the books! First highlight of 2016 was to put together new manga-flavoured piece called NEWRISKYO with a stupid solid cast on the Dance Weekend Festival stage.

#9 Site-specific work at Shangri-La Hotel for Harbourfront Centre

4 rehearsals to put together a 30 min site-specific show at Shangri-La Hotel for Harbourfront Centre’s most VIP event of the year!? That was a challenge worthy of the 9th spot. It was tight but this crew held down the mission.

#7 Site-Specific work at Dusk Dances Festival

For years we refused to do site-specific shows but participating in Dusk Dances ended up being our 7th highlight of the year. Now, rumour has it a new commission and a full length production are in the works. New grounds for 2017!

Took 2 years to find time to make this one happen. 2016’s Numero 3: The Aybrid Dance Intensive. After 40+ hours training, creating, and levelling up, the ADI survivors repped so hard on stage… They convinced us to do it again in 2017.

2016 was one to remember because of this Highlight: TUDS FESTIVAL. 5 days of events with pure REAL VIBES! Toronto Reached new levels of artistry with artists like Krankyd Faction SevenStarr  Jr Madripp  Icy DKM Troublez Zen Piecez Raoul Esie Mensah KC Andrew Prashad (That Footwork 7 to smoke tho!), DJs BBad Victorious (with fire track unheard ever before for battles), Yoshi and our Gadfly company dancers.

Too many historic moments happened but this battle exchange between OPPONENTS Lady C & Lazylegz sums up why we have powered TUDS festival for 8 years now.
